Tribal Winds, a label I love to love, is back with another slammin’ track, "Spirit Rise" by Antonio Ocasio, which features an equally slammin’ vocal by Manchildblack, taking you on it’s journey, lifting you up & asking your spirits to rise. The track itself is very strong, along with Tribal Winds signature percussion, very powerful & really takes you there.

DANNY KRIVIT

"NO DIFFERENCE"

Here's another beautiful work by Tribal Winds label head, now on Deepa Grooves Records. Written and produced by Antonio Ocasio with Lou Rainone on keys (great job!) and Manuel Bizeau on congas, "No Difference" features sultry vocals by Annette Taylor. Antonio wrote this song to talk about the importance of equality: "There's no difference in us all - No Difference". Pure quality. There's also a remix by BLVD East to burn any dance floor.

"HIGHER LOVE"

Danny Krivit's Top Twentyfive - 02/07/06

24. "HIGHER LOVE" - ANTONIO OCASIO Feat. Mustafa Akbar Counterpoint Records - UK.

Without a doubt this in one of the greatest releases of the month. The
'Vocal mix' is one of those songs that you could imagine hearing at The
Loft, at Shelter, at Body & Soul etc. true soulful modern day music for the
head, the heart and the feet! Percussion, keys, flute, sax, rhythm and
wonderful vocals, it is all on here. Add to this an instrumental version
plus an acappella and you can probably imagine for yourself just how good
this release is. MUSIC in big capital letters!!!

David Colkett/Italy - "Sound Barrier - Feb. 2006 Ed.

Tribal Winds head Antonio Ocasio comes correct with an expertly orchestrated super-deep escapade. Afrocentric percussion, active keys and a magical fute sit behind Mustafa Akbar's craving on the vocal version. Shakin' beats, loveable keys and sweet sax groovings colour the heated 'Calor Mix'.

Jon Freer(jon.freer@gmail.com)

"Higher Love" features all the delicious ingredients we can expect from
Tribal Winds label head: tribalish groove, hammond keys, sax, flute, rhodes
and bass, all dropped with his outstanding spiritual touch. Absolutely
lovely.

Hello Antonio, I just want to contratulate you for the song "LIVE" Beautiful, really.., BEAUTFUL. I can't get it out of my head! Keep doing your thing. Respect. Best regards

Rogerio

This past Friday, StraightNoChaser welcomed a very, very special suprise guest from New York City. This man has long been not only a personal favorite of ours, but a producer and dj we very deeply respect, and has never played in Arizona. With releases on (among others) Masters At Work Records ('Little Louie' Vega & Kenny Dope's label), Wave Music (Francois K's label), and his own Tribal Winds, and with tracks appearing on Ibadan (Jerome Syndenham's label), OM Records (and many more), as well as creating the soundtrack "Maestro Documentary" --

Antonio Ocasio has for some time been widely regarded as one of the greatest producers in the world. But not only that, the man can DJ! He walked in the door at 10:00 on friday & went straight on stage and proceeded to flawlessly ROCK IT for the entire night. He not only played some of the most amazing music we've yet heard in this city, but creating a vibe I personally haven't felt since I left Boston. It was truly a blessing for our community to welcome him to our home. Check what some some ya'll in the crowd had to say:

Joe Dipadova

The man played some of the juciest deepest jazz, tribal?, and latin bombs that I didn't even know were possible. Guess I've been sleeping.

Mark Chai

Antonio did not disappoint, playing deep as shit and true to his NY roots and production style. Sorry for those of you who missed out,

Sean Badger a.k.a. dj Senbad

Well, I now have to say that Antonio Ocasio is in my top five favorite producers/djs. I heard him at SNC on Friday and at Lemon Drop on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed his set both times. He is quite known for his AfroLatin styled productions. He spun like he produces on Friday. At Lemon Drop on Saturday he was a bit more 4/4 but still had that ethnic thang goin' on. Mixin' was flawless. He is also a great person...at least that is the feeling I get from talkin' to him.

Pete "Supermix" Salaz

Big Up fellow chaps, geezers, birds and dee rest...

THE man who is responsible for one of my favourite house tunes, that sounds like the best carribean music you will ever encounter, yet it has a deepness, that can uplift you several times throughout its length.... ' Echu Aye'.... and yes he dropped it, like a ton of bricks, at the right time.... it was as if he built up most appropriately and then lashed out with this massive tune. His set was immaculate, his vibe was electric, he was feeling his music as if he had just completed it... and he played some WICKED tunes, and remixes, and I know I say wicked a lot, but when I say it this time, it's as if the word was revamped to mean wickeder than the wickedest... I got to stay till the last tune and then some... I got to meet him and I must say he is one of the most benevolent "big names out there.

The vibe was refreshing and ever-changing as the different crowds came in left and new ones came and left... and so on... a very evolving evening...

Rani "G"

If you missed it Deep on Sunday for Antonio Ocasio you truly missed out! PURE BLISS!!! I was floating on a cloud all night with a huge smile on my face....and based on the reactions and warm smiles...so was everyone else. It was a total New York vibe all night! Great appreciative crowd who I could tell were mostly there for him as well! Antonio took it to a whole other level...one guy who is a dancer that is always at deep got down on the dancefloor in front of the tables during the last two songs and was in a sort of meditation/prayer pose for a long time.... transcending his mind, body and soul...I'm sure you know what I mean! People were sweating and shouting the whole time. Just letting ourselves go...CHURCH!!! I got a chance to speak to Antonio before his set What an honor!

I always pick up your records from TRIBAL WINDS unlistened to because I know they will be good! Your music is so important to me that l really can't express it fully. I have probably seven or eight records of yours and they all take me somewhere. They all mean something dear to me and I always start my sets off with a Tribal Winds track. I think it lets people know where I'm coming from and gives them a hint as to where we will all be going. Thank you very much for the music my brother. Don't give up on this thing. You are making something beautifull & it is communicated through you as a gift. Your star is shinning brightly. Once again thank you. YOU ARE BEING HEARD!!!!

All I can say is Tribal Winds is one of the deepest, most soulful, get down labels there is in todays underground dance movement. There aren't that many labels sharing inspirational vibes. Todays commercial warfare is confusing the deep dance movement with politics that have nothing to do with it. Tribal Winds expresses the real love for the music, from the begining til today. keeping it real.

Hi antonio,
I'm yvan from switzerland. I just wanted to congratulate you for your music. It is a real pleasure to listen to your music, deep and spiritual. I just wanted to let you know that I always play your records. Please continue to make that beautiful kind of music.

Antonio
I picked up a copy of the Introspection EP on my way to play out last night, and dropped "PaQue Gozen." first track: within under a minute a crazy Japanese woman was dancing by the decks and within two she was humping me from behind, which doesn't happen that often to a gay boy like me! So it's a hit I rekon. And it's got a LIVE HARP too! Like, how many tunes have ever had live harps on them: Bod, bold and brilliant! Love the 4am dub of Cosinando on the flip side also. Keep those tunes coming.
Martin

Hello antonio...
Thank you for the new release ... another beautiful piece of music. I love both mixes and will drop them any chance I get ... you know I will!!! I just want to say that I feel very honored and blessed to come in contact with you ~ most importantly the music that comes from your heart. I have recognized your many "gifts" and just want to acknowledge that your music has touched me in ways that can not be explained ... a very spiritual feeling!!! The song that confirmed this psecial feeling was "RENEWAL." I have been listening to the Latin Jazz Mix since it came out..., WOW!!!!! The last third of the record take my spirit on an unbelievable journey. Please continue to do the things that you do ... sharing your special gift, means so much to me.
God bless

Baba Le'Seka ~ featuring spiritual vocalist Emilio Baretto singing in Yoruba, this funky tribal track has one of the last recordings from renowned jazz keyboard whizz Kimsen Pilaut who died last November. He was instrumental in the song's direction mutating it from tech house to the more soulful track we have here. The "Inner Dance Instrumental Mix" has a great groove with freeflowing flute binding it all together for Tribal Winds 18th release. It works great on the floor. The "Vocal Mix" is more of a chilled affair with Emilio chanting and singing over a slow build. OK so the Iyrics are not discernible but the African vibe certainly comes across. The "Drum Mix" adds a good DJ tool too. 3/5

Yet another slab of deep and haunting vinyl from the master of all things spiritual and meaningful. As with his previous output, quality is high. I don't know where he gets all his positive energy from, but if he carries on like this we will all be looking on the bright side of life. 5/5

Mr. Ocasio,
I was introduced to you and your music~party. It had been many years since I heard such a tight set. The only word I could use and can still only use to describe your music is BEAUTIFUL!!! I remember asking Kat about you and she gave me all the information she could. It wasn't until this past Christmas that I finally received the gift of your music for my own. Outstanding in addition to beautiful! Okay so now I have two words to describe your work.
I've turned on as many people as I could to your music. One friend, Derrick Owens, was captured by your essence, and sheer joy that comes across. After reading your interview on speedgarage.com I was glad to know that there is another CD is coming soon. More importantly I was excited to read that you are a man of true musical integrity, whose not afraid to speak his mind.
Please keep up the excellent work. You have made a fan for life. I will continue to dance, drive, clean, and close my eyes and dream to your MASTERFUL music for many years to come. You give from the heart and I just wanted to say THANK YOU.
Always, Stuart

Antonio
Your DJ set in Mutant Disco - Estonia was nothing but great!!! I truly loved the fact that most of the music to me and to almost everyone was new and exciting. I wanted to ask you every second record but that would have been annoying. The crowd was feeling your music. There were many DJs and serious music lovers who were really into your set. Antonio, it was a magic vibe (that s a good word for your music). The vibe you created stayed with me until the next day.
God bless you

"For those of you who don't know who Antonio Ocasio is, then let me tell you something, this man has got something for your mind, your body and your soul, ain't that right ??? Antonio blessed us with a beautiful set on Sunday Oct.15th @ "ANDALU", Washington D.C. For all of you promoters out there I suggest you track this man down and get him to play. It was one of the nicest musical experiences I had in quite a while."

"A very special thank you to all that attended and supported the last "SOLID GARAGE" event that featured TRIBAL WINDS' recording artist ANTONIO OCASIO. His spectacular hour set in the lounge and magical 3 hour set in the main room are ones to be cherished for a long time."

ANTONIO OCASIO originally hails from Puerto Rico, but now resides in New York and is the proud owner of the most collectable deep, spiritual motif, TRIBAL WINDS. His music is so meaningful and always tells you a story from start to finish. This truly one of the US label that produces A1 goods. Deep, so deep and then some.

This is deliciouse almalgamation of intense tribal percussion and excellent vibe and organ solos. Filled with depth and character, this is bursting with emotion and energy. The Body & Soul edit strips things down to the Afro-Latin percussion and what it lacks in keyboard dynamics it makes up for in a solid arrangement. This will have the talc-skattering free-stylers of Body & Soul spinning and tumbling to their hearts content.

I can't recall the details when _________ played LEGENDS/LIFE, but I remember the night Antonio blessed us. there was a crowd that wanted to be pumped up and I did my thing and when it was time for Antonio to come on he was like, "Yo I don't play all this pumpling house, I play much more mellow. He got up there and changed the vibe to suit the direction he was going and it definitely took some of the walk-ins for a loop, but forget that, Antonio threw down the most unique set at LEGENDS ever to this day! So much so that Francois K. was tripping out over his nerve to be different and fell in love with the way antonio played. Mass appeal, no! Daring, different and confident, yes! That's it!

"Antonio, once again I MUST say: thank you for your Music!!! It makes miracles and dreams come true. Ok, check this.. My girlfriend lives in Paris, I in Estonia - the distance is some 2000 miles and it really gets hard at times, especially when you long for closeness, caress or whatever...Sometimes troubles appear. But believe me or not: your Music has helped both of us overcome all the obstacles. I mean: both me & she adore your creations and it lifts us up, although physically so far from each other. And what can i do but record more and more tunes for her...Boy.. it's emotional but so true!!! You're a gift of life,"

Last year I got a copy of your "Romance en el Barrio." This one became one of my favorite records in my large collection. I loved the percussion work and the violin solo of this track. That was a few years ago. So I got your records from the States, from United Kingdom and from Japan. I hope, that I will get the whole discography. That’s what I’m working on.
